Girls’ lacrosse stays resilient and positive
Girls’ lacrosse captain Meghan Sharick’s goal for this season is to “win some games.”
This year’s core members of the team are goalie Savanah Robinson and defensive leader Madison Rodriguez.
Also important to the team are midfielders Sharick, Malia MacDonald, and Jane O’Connell.
The Hurricanes are a resilient bunch that refuse to give up even after big losses.
“We push through it and we are able to have fun, especially when we win, but also when we don’t. We are even able to see good things happen in games that we lose,” said Sharick.
The team hopes to improve upon last season’s record of 5-15.
Although it was a tough season with changes in coaches, they put in “110 percent effort in every practice,” said Sharick.
As of May 5, their record was 2-9.
The team is coached by Carol Samuels and Kelly Ziomek, who both came out of retirement this year.
They had previously coached until 2014.
However, because the Hurricanes could not find a coach this year, Samuels and Ziomek decided to come out once more.
